'Cancel NEET too': Opposition after UGC-NET cancelled fearing irregularities
The Opposition on Wednesday pressured the BJP-led NDA government to cancel the NEET-UG 2024 examination after the National Testing Agency (NTA) cancelled UGC-NET exam due to fear of irregularities. On late Wednesday evening, the NTA issued a statement, saying that the UGC-NET exam conducted on Tuesday, June 18, is cancelled as the "integrity of the examination may have been compromised". In a post addressing Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge said, "You (PM Modi) do 'pariksha pe charcha' a lot, but when will you do 'NEET pe charcha'? The cancellation of UGC-NET exam is a victory of the spirit of lakhs of girl students.
